Changing the Vocabulary (continued)

 

Whore, tramp, and slut are just plain nasty name-calling for no other purpose than to denigrate and to push the accused out of society altogether. I well-remember how it felt to hear others in school and my own parent screaming these words at me when I was a teenager and after having been raped repeatedly. Our society is so devoid of understanding sexual violation, that the first reaction is often to accuse the one violated and excuse the one that violated. Think about that.

Here’s one word that requires clarification. Victim. This word deserves its own section. I’m going to call it “Branding 101”.
